Excellent location, authentic Moroccan charm, and friendly staff
Liked: The hostel is ideally located in the heart of Essaouira’s medina which makes exploring the city very easy. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They helped me carry my luggage upstairs and made me feel welcome. Although nobody was immediately visible when I first arrived, the receptionist came down within a few minutes to open the door and show me to my room. The hostel also has a kitchen and a lovely rooftop terrace with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, which makes it a nice place to unwind. As for the room, it was comfortable and had its own bathroom, hot water, and everything I needed for my stay. I also appreciated that it was a two-bed room rather than the four-bed room I had initially expected.
Disliked: There were only two things that bothered me during my stay. First, the room could use better ventilation. Since the bathroom is inside the room, there was a slight unpleasant smell during the night, and the room felt quite humid. Second, I was concerned about the bed linen being changed between guests. After my roommate checked out following a three-night stay, I returned to the room later that day and noticed that her bedsheets appeared not to have been changed, even though the room had been cleaned. Since another guest was expected to use the bed, I believe bedsheets should be changed after every checkout to ensure proper hygiene.

Liked: Everything was great, from the warm and welcoming staff to the property itself. Everything was so clean and well-maintained(no bad smell at all). I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again on my next trip to Essaouira! 🤍
