A great location, very pleasant stay, but awkward staircase access to attic room

Liked: The bed was very comfortable, and the room very welcoming. Despite being on a busy road noise was not an issue in the attic room. Bus stop was very close by, to get to main train station. Easy distance to restaurants and shopping.

Disliked: The attic room meant three levels of staircase steps to take luggage up, with the last set being very narrow, badly lit, and actually built as part of the room - the property is aware of the need for extra lighting. I believe that there is a potential safety issue with the final steps going up to the attic room, because they start going down directly from the landing where you walk between the bed and the bathroom. I believe the attic room is unsuitable for anyone who is elderly or has mobility issues. I think this information ought to be “front and centre” rather than included in ‘important notes’ about the property.

Liked: I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay in the Daisy Room at Hazel House. The location is excellent with bus stops to/from the airport and Haarlem Central Station only a few steps away, and it is only a few minutes walk to the Grote Markt and all the main sites. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and perfect for my stay. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice surprise. I'd love to stay here again if I've ever back in Haarlem.

Characterful rooms right in the centre

Liked: Our rooms were airy and spacious and had a lot of character. The location was great, being in the centre. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see.

Disliked: The Wi-Fi stopped working during our stay. We were unable to get this resolved

Really enjoyed staying at Hazel House - owners were super helpful

Liked: Location was excellent - right in the middle of Haarlem and on main bus route. Comfortable beds and great air con.

Disliked: It can get a bit noisy but earplugs provided if needed. Shower pressure wasn’t great but ok.
