  nice neigbourhoud for a tourist, but not value for money

  Liked: If you are looking for a hotel surrounded by little bars and restaurants in the middle of the city center of Utrecht, you might like this. The room was all right, but not of a high standard.

  Disliked: As a business traveller, for a 4-star hotel, my expectations are different. I had to check in myself, using a dirty little iPad screen that kept displaying all sorts of error messages. It left a bad impression right from the start. You can’t choose your own breakfast; you are simply given a tray of preselected food. I was literally asked the following by a student girl: “Would you like an egg with salmon? Because that is all we have.” When I went to check out, there was no one at the reception desk. I went back to the breakfast room. A cleaner walked with me to the reception desk and said, ‘Just put your card in that basket. That is how you check out.’

  We spent a couple of days here between Amsterdam & Paris and we LOVED it

  Liked: Excellent hotel, very warm and cozy, central yet quiet. Everything is within walking distance. The room is spacious and comfortable. The staff is wonderful! There's a dining area on the first floor, with very nice view of Mariaplaats. And the smell at the reception from Atelier Rebul was amazing! So were the toiletries in the room!

  Disliked: The square pillows, which I know are common in the Netherlands! The wonderful staff provided us with more pillows to make our stay comfortable. The absence of hair conditioner.
