Exceptional
Liked: Probably one of the best places we've stayed, we tour by motorcycle ( somewhere different each night) and love historic buildings but this house with all the history from one family makes it very special. The host's living in the adjacent house are very welcoming and are at hand if needed x

Super spot
Liked: Beautiful old manor with lots of history, with gorgeous garden and in a great setting. Only 2-3 km from Amarante center, but still utterly tranquil. I can see theyve taken on board previous feedback from other reviews and have made improvements recommended. As mentioned, the place was impeccably clean, and at this time of year the big lounge area and bedroom were cool havens compared to outside.
It has a fantastic piece of history and the entire experience is one of authenticity of days gone by
Liked: Basically, it was magical! The morning mist, the lovely owner(caretakers of their family’s legacy), the stunning countryside….all was exactly for what we were hoping.

If you appreciate historic properties, this beautiful villa is for you!
Liked: The property is full of history and old world charm. I did not expect to be staying in the home of an accomplished & famous poet. We saw his statue in town and a street named after him! Leanor was wonderful & warm but note that she doesn’t speak English.
Disliked: The furniture is also vintage/historic so not the most comfortable.

Liked: Spotless, comfortable and in a magical location. The host is very friendly and helpful, making everything easy. I'll definitely comeback as soon as possible
