  Fabulous apartment with stunning view

  Liked: The location was ideal. Property was extremely clean and comfortable. It was a quiet area but with so much to do and visit. There were 3 bars within walking distance who also served snacks etc. The marina with plenty of restaurants was close enough but a car was needed due to the hills! We got a local taxi driver if we didn't want to drive. Madeira is fabulous island with so many things to see - hikes, lava pools, beautiful villages, amazing food, spectacular mountain drives. The pool in the property was amazing and each apt has it's own balcony/terrace/bbq. The owner was so friendly & the fruit, veg and herbs in the garden were delicious.

  Lovely, comfortable apartment with sea view

  Liked: It's evident that the hosts have given a lot of thought to how to make the apartment as comfortable as possible. We had everything we needed. We particularly liked the private terrace with sunbeds, umbrella and bbq, outside dining area, good shower space/hot water, very comfortable bed, and sea view. Only four apartments share the pool, with outside shower, which I had to myself a lot, you can swim and have a sea view at the same time and big beach towels are provided. Also liked the effective AC, which cooled the apartment in seconds and fast WiFi. Quiet location, need a car, but bars within walking distance through the garden gate. A lovely getaway if you want some peace and quiet.

  Disliked: Pillows were a little hard, no umbrellas by the pool and unfortunately we were bothered by flies outside. Could be the time of year or they were attracted to my sunscreen, so take fly repellant. No cleaning of apartment during our stay, but equipment, extra towels and sheets are provided.

  Liked: We had a very enjoyable stay at tropical garden! The view from the apartments is just incredible. We had a lovely outdoor barbecue set up where we could cook and watch the sunset over the sea! Very kind hosts that go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable!

  Great family holiday stay

  Liked: Lovely views and location- clean with all the facilities you could need, a great pool and barbecueing area and a bonus was the vegtable and herb gardens that we were told we coukd pick anything from. Staff were really helpful and pleasant I would recommend this place to anyone We loved it

  Disliked: The drive is very steep and a low powered vehicle wont make it up so plan for this

  Beautiful stay with amazing sea views and a great location for exploring the western part of Madeira

  Liked: We had a wonderful five-night stay at Tropical Garden in Arco da Calheta. We were warmly welcomed by our host, who even arranged a late check-in at 11 PM and left us a lovely welcome aperitif. The property is beautiful, with four accommodations and fabulous sea views. We rented both the Two-Bedroom Townhouse and the apartment, and both were spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. The townhouse has a lovely terrace right next to the swimming pool, while the apartment has an amazing outdoor kitchen area. The location is also ideal for exploring Madeira, with Calheta close by and the PR6 25 Fontes and Levada do Risco walks around a 20-minute drive away. We highly recommend starting via PR6.6 Vereda do Túnel do Cavalo, which gives easy access to the 25 Fontes while avoiding the crowds at the regular PR6 starting point. A final bonus tip: make sure to check out RB2, part of the Rota da Banana in Madalena do Mar. Just a 7-minute drive from Tropical Garden, it is an easy and scenic walk through the banana plantations, perfect for families and younger children. And don't forget to say hello to the parrot along the way! A beautiful place with great facilities, amazing views, and a very welcoming host. We would happily stay here again.

  Liked: Amazing location with convenient rooms and beautiful swimming pool. We were allowed to pick up fresh vegetables and herbs from the property's garden!

  Disliked: No dishwasher. Only basic kitchen utensils.
