  Looks exactly like the photos, very nice and comfortable apartment

  Liked: Beautiful decor and great view

  Disliked: It was a little tricky getting into the apartment at first as the code didn’t work.

  Good stay which could have been excellent

  Liked: Excellent area. Lovely apartment inside and easy to get into. Instructions and communication was fine with host

  Disliked: This apartment from 2027 onwards will be 9-10/10. However the day before we arrived we found out there was paint work and sanding going on at the building meaning we couldn’t use the balcony. We finally got access day 3 however it was still dusty and blocked by scaffold. The next door neighbour also was having a full apartment upgrade meaning loads of loud noises. (Not our hosts fault, just unlucky on our part)

  Beautiful apartment, but we not allowed to use the large deck with a view due to renovation

  Liked: The location was great - close to restaurants, waterfront, etc. Convenient, free, safe parking. Good instructions of how to get into building & apartment. Loved having a washing machine and fridge! The apartment was spacious & comfortable. Great wifi. The pool was refreshing.

  Disliked: The day we arrived, the hosts told us we couldn't use the large deck with a view of the ocean - which is one of the main reasons why we chose this apartment - because of renovations of the exterior of the building. According to the notices in the elevators, the renovations had been going on for months and would continue to take months to complete. Also... there was a total renovation happening in the apartment next door, so a lot of noise throughout the day. We felt the hosts should have informed us of these situations. We would probably have chosen a different accommodation because of this.

  It's a risky booking

  Liked: This would be a lovely apartment to rent if construction was not taking place.

  Disliked: The deceit displayed by the host and the indifference of Booking.com are both disappointing. We received the following message from the host the night before our arrival: "Our building is currently being painted, so the balcony is dirty and should not be used due to the work being done on the exterior of the building. We ask that you keep the windows closed whenever you leave the apartment to prevent dirt from entering." We assumed it was a minor issue and asked for a discount, which the owner offered-10% (which is nothing, in my opinion). When we arrived (6:00pm), the condition was much worse than anticipated. The entire side of the building was covered in construction mesh and scaffolding so the view of the sea was completely obstructed (attached photo). Obviously the owner knew the apt would not be ready weeks in advance,( common sense tells you that-refer picture-). So why wait until the night before? In the morning we heard and saw workers going up and down the staging so we had to keep the blinds closed. There was loud construction noise taking place in the morning (attached video). We contacted the host who informed us the construction work was taking place on the lower floors. This was inaccurate (we were there). Not only did he deceive us with the actual state of affairs at the apartment, but he did not believe us when we explained the situation. We stated that we chose that apartment because of the balcony and sea views and would have chosen a less expensive place without a balcony if we had been informed of the construction work with more notice. In our opinion, this apartment should not be rented out until the construction is complete. You cannot use the balcony, you do not have a view, you have to keep the blinds closed for privacy and you cannot stay in the apartment with the construction noise. This has the potential to completely ruin a vacation/stay in Cascais. Of note- we still have not received any response from Booking.com
