  For the independent no frills traveller, Bela Vista is perfect

  Liked: Had everything we needed. Great view from the terrace for breakfast/afternoon drinks. Was close to the highways to get around the island. There a bus stop right on the corner and the cable car to Monte is at the end of the street. Ana Bela was lovely.

  Disliked: Pot luck with parking but ok to park on the street. No aircon but there is a fan.

  Cozy place with great views and a great owner

  Liked: Anabela is a very kind and cheerful host, even though we had quite a language barrier she really tried her best to make our stay as nice as possible! The views from the apartment are great and the place itself is in good condition and nicely equipped. The kitchen is small but has all the appliances necessary for cooking. Parking nearby is possible as well (and not on a steep slope which is also nice in that area).

  Disliked: As many places on Madeira the apartment is a bit humid and there is no AC to reduce that (but a small heater existed at least).

  Absolutely lovely with great views and easy transit connections for those without a car

  Liked: That view… my god! I don’t think I could ever grow tired of it. The apartment was perfect for my time on the island. Spacious, well equipped, and Anabela was the absolute sweetest. I really appreciated the attention to detail of the apartment like the bathroom has plenty of hooks for hanging towels (a detail many rental apartments miss.) there was a full length mirror (you’d be surprised how many rentals don’t think of this.) the kitchen has real sharp knives in working condition and stainless steel pots and pans instead of scratched-up nonstick, and there was a small space heater that made the bedroom nice and toasty very quickly on the chilly nights. I used public transport to get around and it was easy and adhered to the posted schedule (plus the maps apps will give you accurate arrival times to the minute.) It’s out of the way from the main tourist drag, but it’s peaceful and quiet with friendly locals and good transit connections. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay!

  Great location, Amazing views and Anabela (the host) is a very lovely lady

  Liked: Quiet location with Amazing views, very comfortable and it has everything needed for a comfortable stay

  Disliked: the bed was uncomfortable for me, i have back problems so am very particular with my mattress. we had a little bit of trouble finding the property but this was quickly sorted out by calling the host
