  Worked okay for us but some drawbacks to be aware of

  Liked: Back courtyard patio was lovely - unfortunately-weather was a bit cool so couldn’t use it a lot. House was reasonably well supplied and equipped and Roberto left us Madeiran treats which was lovely. Bed in main bedroom was comfortable - the beds in the back bedroom were very firm and you could feel the springs. Lots of hot water and good water pressure in bathrooms.

  Disliked: If you have mobility issues probably not the best - on a hill with no sidewalks - in the old town so the living room window and door are basically right on the street which means it is both quite dark and noisy at peak traffic times. An old house that has been nicely renovated, but musty smelling - weather was windy and rainy so this likely didn’t help - there was a space heater in the living room which helped with the damp but if you have sensitivities likely not a good bet.

  Characterful, comfortable, well located, and very convenient for the Old Town

  Liked: Cosy comfortable well equipped townhouse, residential area but close to many tourist amenities. Roberto was welcoming leaving a little tray of Madeiran goodies to enjoy. Highly recommended

  Liked: The accommodation was very good, clean and tidy. The AC units in the bedrooms provided welcome relief after a hot day in the sun. The location is very good, within walking distance to the old town.

  Disliked: Course needed to operate the oven, tried everything but couldn't get it working. Suggest Roberto gives a demo on oven operation to incoming guests 😄

  a functional holiday house in a good location. Good value

  Liked: The host is very friendly. It‘s close to a very nice cafe/bar next to the water, swimming area and the old town.
