Exceptional
Hidden gem in Foz
Liked: This is a really beautiful apartment, very unusual as it is a vertical property with 4 floors. Well appointed, with a sun room and little courtyard garden to relax in. It had everything you could need. The location in Foz do Douro was ideal, close to the beach, restaurants, shops, and 100m from the bus stop where the number 500 bus took us to central Porto in about 20 mins. We have stayed in central Porto before but as a family we preferred this location. The apartment was exceptionally clean and communication with the host was very easy. It was a nice touch to have a bottle of port waiting for us. We would definitely stay there again.
Disliked: We liked everything about the apartment. Due to the 4 flights of stairs it may not be suitable for older people or families with very small children but was ideal for us

Disliked: No toilet on the first floor Some appliances were not working in the house The light on the terrace outside did not work No vacuum cleaner
Liked: Location was excellent
Disliked: There is only 1 key to share between two couples. This restricted us doing things separately. Backyard was lovely but could not sit out in it due to mosquitos or bugs due to outdoor plants. Outdoor plants blocked sunlight coming in.
Really enjoyed the stay, apartment was spacious and excellent location right across from beach
Liked: Location was excellent, it was right across from the beach and a lovely beach bar and restaurant. Also close to cafes and restaurants. Kitchen and facilities in apartment were also very good.
Disliked: Bedroom on third floor was bit of a trek up and down if you forgot something. Also suggest putting panelling against staircase on third floor as would not be suitable for young children.
Beautiful stay in a vertical house by the beach
Liked: This vertical house, on 4 levels, looked and felt like an apartment straight from an architectural magazine. We were very impressed with the design and quality of everything: the upmarket and beautifully appointed kitchen, bathrooms, patio and Japanese garden. The attention to details was evident in every thing: Lighting, mirrors, wardrobes, furnishings, large glass doors, electrical blinds etc. The toiletries provided in the bathrooms were of good quality and very generous: Everything one could need was available! The location was ideal - one minute from the beach - restaurant and groceries were close by too. It was a delight to stay in this property and experience vertical living in a very functional and beautiful house. After being on the road for a few weeks, we were grateful to relax and enjoy this special home. We highly recommend this experience.
Disliked: The stairs would not be suitable for people with mobility issues and young children. We didn't mind climbing up and down stairs as the place was worth it!
Overall a great stay
Liked: The overall layout of the apartment was good and interesting, not suitable for elderly though due to the stairs. Parking available very nearby. Although there were issues per below but the owner was very responsive to troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Disliked: Using the facility was not straightforward, like controlling the air conditioning. There hiccups also like the lock to the main door was not working properly due to battery depletion and smoke detector was buzzing without reason.....
