  Liked: The accommodation was within walking distance to the river and cruises and the Centre of Town. There's a supermarket very close by. The host was very accommodating and even invited my husband to join with the "stomping of the grapes" during his winemaking. There's a communal kitchen to keep all your groceries and a communal lounge where we sat and played cards in the evening.

  We would stay here again

  Liked: At first we didn’t like the location but it ended up great once we figured out the area. Right near the river but didn’t realize until day 2. Spotless clean, Lidl 1/2 block away. Best shower in Portugal!! Bidet, Beautiful garden. Welcoming place. Parking inside gate.

  Great location, neglected property

  Liked: The location was very convenient. The size of the room and bathroom was ample.

  Disliked: The air conditioner was so loud. It kept us up at night unbearable! The kitchen facilities were dismal, not even wine glasses, which is unthinkable in Portugal! The microwave door was left open because it didn’t function correctly. The water heater kettle doesn’t shut off automatically. there is no air-conditioning in either the common living area or the common kitchen area. The TVs were so old the one in the bedroom was so small my mobile phone screen was bigger! Neither Amazon, nor Netflix would allow videos to be played on the units because of their lack of secure capability.

  Good base for Douro-valley

  Liked: Our room was spacious, clean with a nice, big balcony with an amazing view. Parking is easy on the front side. Centre of the town is 20 min walk, Lidl is 3 min walk. Perfect place for a short stay but also a good base to discover Douro-valley. Absolutely recommended.

  Would be a nice place to stay in warm weather

  Liked: Clean. Modern. Convenient.

  Disliked: No heat except in the bedroom which barely kept it warm enough. Bathroom freezing. Common room not usable. Kitchen usable to heat water and retreat to bedroom. Not allowed to cook!!
