  Hotel with high potential, but a lack of culture

  Liked: The best part was the helpfulness and welcoming attitude of the night receptionist/manager Tomasz and the bartender. I was stressed at a late arrival and dying for something to eat and a drink.

  Disliked: As a former hotel professional, I was rather puzzled by the breakfast experience. The hotel offers an extensive continental breakfast, almost as if I were staying in a large conference hotel in a European capital. A high-speed coffee machine, an impressive variety of food, and a setup clearly designed for efficiency and high volumes. But this is a hotel with fewer than 40 rooms. During my breakfast, there were only four guests in the breakfast room, while two staff members were standing in the back office. I wanted to sit at a table by the window, which had not yet been cleared. Instead of clearing the table or offering me a coffee, the attendant's first priority was to check whether breakfast was included in my reservation. I can understand such procedures in a fully occupied hotel, but in these circumstances it felt unnecessarily bureaucratic and rather unwelcoming. Hospitality is also about recognising the situation and adapting accordingly. At checkout, I wanted to share my appreciation for the lovely experiences I had had with the staff the previous evening. I had hoped for a smile and perhaps a simple "Thank you, I'll pass that on to my colleagues." Instead, I experienced quite the opposite: a rather indifferent response. It is a pity when genuine compliments for colleagues are not received with the same warmth with which they are given. 2. Rooms and interior The rooms, as well as the interiors of the lobby and bar, feel outdated. The hotel would benefit from some refurbishment to create a more welcoming and contemporary atmosphere. 3. Lighting and atmosphere Please reconsider the lighting in the rear part of the hotel, particularly when guests arrive.
