  Liked: Easy to check in and check out. Good communication from hosts. Quiet.

  Disliked: Basic breakfast. Could have had a few selection of fruits and yoghurts instead of only apples and natural yoghurts. Juice would have been nice as kids don't drink tea or coffee, so they only had water. Bedsheets washed but stain still visible, and one had a hole. Handwash empty.

  Liked: Bed was OK. Restaurant with favourable reviews in walking distance, but it was fully booked during my stay.

  Disliked: Why do some people get so ooh and aah about homely and friendly (and 37 extra pillows piled on top of the bed that you have to remove first)? I wish the score had been lower, so I could have skipped this location. What I saw was limited and inconvenient street parking (unfriendly gutter when parking next to the house, in my case with another car that took more space than it should, so I had some distance to walk), two key lockboxes to navigate to get a set of 4 keys, outside stairs up and then inside stairs back down. Inside the room I was met by a strange perfume, perhaps Soupçon de Moisissure, and the shower did show some black marks, despite the disturbingly loud ventilator... mounted right inside the shower! If I were to accidentally aim the water spray into the ventilator, would that be a survivable event? Would somebody responsible for that contraption even have had the consideration to install an earth leakage circuit breaker? Was all that even up to code (if Portugal has one)? These and other thoughts crossed my mind while I was having a shower. I was not impressed, felt it was overpriced for what I got (in comparison to other places), and would preferably not use again. PS: The Hotel Manager Alberto then found it appropriate to scold me for this review in an angry email, complete with "how ungrateful of you" and "I wish you as much luck in your life as I had with you." Friendly?
