  Lovely place to stay

  Liked: The location was great and the room we comfortable. We enjoyed the rading room, and Dulce was great - provided a great breakfast experience.

  Disliked: I forgot something in our room and when we went back they said they didn't find it. A few hours after we checked out we went back to look for it, not there and It was not in our luggage. They said they didn't find it when they cleaned the room. Sad.

  A beautiful house in a fairytale environment!

  Liked: Quirky, quaint beautiful house! Loved the house and the garden seating area! Perfect location, central but quiet, being tucked away on a private cobbled lane!

  Disliked: Absolutely dreadful accommodation – damp, mould and an unbearable smell! Without a doubt, this was the worst accommodation we experienced during our entire trip through Portugal! We travelled all the way from Albufeira to Porto, and nowhere else did we encounter anything remotely as appalling as this. The entire apartment had an extremely strong, musty smell of damp and mould. The smell was so overwhelming that I repeatedly woke up during the night and could barely sleep. There was visible mould on the walls, plaster was peeling off, and there were obvious signs of long-term dampness throughout the property. I genuinely cannot understand how anyone can rent out accommodation in such a condition and actually charge people money for it. These conditions are completely unacceptable and potentially harmful to guests' health! Another major issue was lack of proper windows. The apartment had only an entrance door with a tiny window that could be opened. Because of the unbearable smell, we were forced to leave the entire entrance door open just to get some fresh air inside. As a result, people walking past could see directly into our apartment, including our bed while we were lying in it. We had absolutely no privacy! On top of everything else, the apartment had virtually no natural daylight. It was dark, gloomy and felt more like a dungeon than a place where anyone should be expected to stay. I have attached photographs clearly showing the peeling plaster, damaged walls, visible mould and signs of dampness throughout the accommodation. I find it absolutely shocking that accommodation in this condition is being offered to paying guests. These conditions are completely unacceptable, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this property!

  Friendly staff, good location, room poor

  Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful The woman who served breakfast was especially good. Hotel very central and easy to get around Breakfast was good

  Disliked: We booked a superior room but it didn’t seem like it to me - can’t imagine what standard is like. The room was damp, little ventilation and dark. Dont stay in D.Joao II room! There was one window which we didn’t open as it was just outside reception with people passing. There were two cut out ‘windows’ in the door to open but these had no glass and let insects in. The room looked superficially clean but I walked barefoot just to the bathroom and my feet were black
