Exceptional
Castle view from the balcony!
Liked: Beautiful apartment, comfortable bed, fabulous location in the heart of the historic district.
Disliked: Everything was great, wish we stayed longer!
A spacious light apartment in the perfect location. So
Liked: Fabulous location in the historical centre and walking distance to everything, including the wonderful restaurants near the station area. Spotless, comfortable and spacious. Excellent communication with owners. Wonderful to have two bathrooms.
Disliked: This should be 5 stars all the way. The only thing letting it down is the mattress in the main bedroom which was 1970s backpacker standard. An iron would also have been useful.
Convenient but paid a price with interrupted sleep
Liked: Location although this was the downfall too as a large scale concert/stage took place outside the palace and directly impacted my time and sleep in the apartment.
Disliked: Curtains didn’t block out the street or stage lighting. Section in the hallway in the floor that was uneven fell over a few times. Needs attention as looks like a panel in the flooring has dropped causing an health and safety hazard.
Perfect base in Sintra
Liked: Spacious apartment in an excellent position
Disliked: Parking is complicated and it was difficult to find because the precinct is closed off with bollards until 19h00. It was quite a long walk with suitcases and bags from the car and then up a steep flight of stairs.
Wonderful! Can't wait to go back!
Liked: Lovely property! Big spacious rooms, quiet at night, updated kitchen, VERY comfortable beds. In the heart of everything. We wish they would have a tea kettle but place in Spain almost never do so it's not a ding on this place.
Good location, but some improvements are needed
Liked: The biggest advantage of this apartment is its excellent location. It is right in the center of Sintra, making it easy to walk to the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The apartment is also spacious and well suited for families or groups, with two bathrooms, two showers, and plenty of room.
Disliked: There are, however, several points that could be improved. The apartment is noisy at night because of its central location, so sleeping with the windows open is difficult. Since there is no air conditioning, you often have to choose between fresh air and a quiet night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms never receives natural sunlight, which makes it feel quite dark throughout the day. The apartment is also missing some basic kitchen essentials, such as salt, which many guests would expect to find. In addition, some areas, especially parts of the flooring, show signs of wear and would benefit from renovation. A tip for future guests: avoid the small mini markets in the immediate area, as the prices are extremely high and you are likely to pay far more than necessary. Instead, take a taxi for about 10 minutes to one of the larger supermarkets, where you’ll find a much better selection at normal prices. Overall, the fantastic location and spacious layout make this apartment a good base for exploring Sintra, but a few practical improvements would make the stay much more comfortable.
