What is the Albaicín?

The Albaicín is Granada’s old Moorish quarter, on the hill facing the Alhambra. Its narrow streets, its cármenes with gardens and viewpoints such as San Nicolás, with the best view of the Alhambra, made it a World Heritage Site in 1994.

How to get there

The C31 and C32 minibuses go up from Plaza Nueva and the Gran Vía. The streets are steep and many are closed to cars, so ask your accommodation how to get there with luggage. Plaza Nueva and the Carrera del Darro are just below, a few minutes away.

When rooms are hardest to find

At Easter, on the spring and autumn long weekends and during big congresses. Sunsets at the San Nicolás viewpoint fill the quarter at any time of year.
