  Exceptional hotel, great service from friendly staff, will visit again

  Liked: the location was very central and close to public transport, staff exceptionally polite and caring. beautiful fresh flower arrangements upon entrance. housekeeping very polite and prompt to any request raised

  Disliked: the mattress was very hard, in hindsight I should have raised it after the first sleep

  Very nice at that rate, wouldn't really be a consideration for biz travel to basel

  A top property to be savored

  Liked: There are few truly great hotels remaining in the world. This is one of them. The staff is committed to a perfect guest experience. The property is perfectly maintained. The Michelin restaurant is extraordinary

  Disliked: Some amenities are overpriced. 30 CHF to launder a shirt shocks the conscience. 55CHF for breakfast is unpleasant, even for people willing to pay high room rates. The room was unexpectedly cold because I was there just as the weather changed. However, they could have planned to have the heating running based on the waather forecast.

  Liked: The staff were great. Spacious rooms, good bathroom. Clean. Great breakfast, good restaurant. The bar serves small dishes as well which was great. Great location. Loved the art everywhere in the hotel

  Disliked: Some rooms have a bath tub with shower, whilst others have a normal shower. Standing in a bath tub is just not something you want to deal with especially when you are older / less mobile. Valet service took pretty long (30 minutes) because other cars were in front of mine. They did apologise and offered a free drink at the bar so it was well handled.
