  Excellent property

Liked: I had to pleasure of staying at the Hotel Martof this past week. The hotel is located in the heart of Basel, next to the Alt Stadt and the Farmers Market. Needless to say, it is a great location. The hotel is in a historic building but the interior was completely remodeled 3 years ago. The rooms are very nicely decorated and well equipped. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I added the breakfast option to my reservation after arriving at the hotel. It was a good decision. The breakfast buffet is extensive. Everything is well presented. They even provided specially prepared eggs upon request. Over all, a great stay. Highly recommended.

  Disliked: All good.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting with exceptional facilities

Liked: The hotel was set in a beautiful building and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an upgrade on our rooms which was a lovely surprise but I suspect our original rooms would have been just as good. The attention to detail, the quality and design of the fixtures and fittings and the cleanliness were exceptional. This followed through the general areas of the hotel. The breakfast was superb, so much choice!

Disliked: This is just a minor point but we had dinner at the hotel which was incredibly expensive, over £350 for four of us. The food was very tasty and presented well but we thought it was alot of money considering we only had one alcoholic drink each.
