  Liked: Staff were extremely friendly, room was clean and comfortable. The view was unlike anything else we had on our trip.

  Disliked: I feel a bit rotten saying this but it really bugged me. I paid 300chf for 2 nights stay, which is great, no issue at all with that.. it was then 20chf each for breakfast the two mornings (my choice), so 80chf for the two of us during our stay, and then because we had two small dogs, it was 20chf PER dog PER night, so yet another 80chf.. we then had to pay 15chf per night for parking, so 30chf ( and this annoys me, this is just pure greed when you are already spending a lot of money to stay at the hotel) and then we had city tax to pay. So my 300chf stay turned into 500chf stay. 20chf per dog per night is an absolute joke, what difference does have two dogs in a room cost to having one dog, big or small? In my eyes nothing, just greed yet again. It was the ONLY hotel in our travels around France, Italy, Switzerland and Holland that charged that ridiculous amount. If your travelling without a pet or a car, this place is great, if you have either of those and are happy to spend that money then fine, I won't be staying here again.

  Grindelwald is just magical, and this accomodation complimented it perfectly

  Liked: Absolutely LOVED our stay! The views from our room and balcony are something you simply won’t ever forget. The staff were so friendly and offered heaps of advice and the bathroom, shared kitchen etc were well kept.

  Disliked: We knew it before and were prepared but that walk from the station to the lodge with suitcases is killer but the views were helpful and distracting 🤣. There is a bus that drops you off very close by, so that’s a bonus if you need it.

  Good stay in a cosy lodge - could be better

  Liked: The location was superb - the views from the hotel were outstanding. The Spanish guy at the reception was exceptionally good and did his best in every way - commend him for his customer service oriented approach.

  Disliked: On the first night, stayed in the apartment on the top floor. The bedroom had a loft like layout with steep gradient that made it a safety hazard - kept bumping into the ceiling. The shower screen was faulty and water kept going everywhere on the floor. More attention to housekeeping is advisable - we changed rooms for the second night but toiletries weren’t replenished and bins were not cleared.

  Liked: The hotel is located in the upper part of Grindelwald, in a peaceful, natural setting with absolutely breathtaking views. It has a warm, family-run feel and is extremely well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are surprisingly luxurious and well equipped, beyond what I would have expected from a hotel like this. Everything was perfect. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and I especially want to mention the guy who was in charge of it. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but he was new at the time (he had just arrived from Spain) and was incredibly kind. He made me a delicious omelet and went out of his way to help me check whether a particular dish contained nuts, as I'm allergic to some of them. I highly recommend this hotel! Just keep in mind that if you find walking uphill and downhill difficult, you'll probably need to take the (free) bus to get to the center of Grindelwald.

  Disliked: Nothing. It was perfect.
