  Disliked: I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with our recent experience at your property. What should have been a pleasant stay became an extremely distressing experience that left us feeling unwelcome, humiliated and concerned for our safety. Our car broke down, delaying our arrival by approximately one hour beyond the check-in time. We called repeatedly to explain the situation and seek assistance, but several calls went unanswered. When someone finally answered, we were refused check-in. Despite our understanding that the hosts lived very close to the property, they declined to come and let us in. We were nevertheless charged for the entire night, although we were denied access to our accommodation. The manner in which we were spoken to was particularly upsetting. Both the refusal and the openly rude behaviour, especially from the male host, left us feeling intimidated at an already difficult moment. Our stay over the following two days did little to improve the experience: The accommodation felt extremely cramped, with exceptionally small bathrooms. We were not allowed to bring in outside food, including basic items such as curd and bread. The common kitchen was accessible only until 10:30 p.m. When we returned at approximately 11:00 p.m., we could no longer access it. Glasses were removed from our room and never replaced, leaving us without basic drinking glasses when the kitchen was also inaccessible. Taken together, these restrictions, inadequate amenities and hostile interactions made our stay deeply uncomfortable. Basic courtesy, respectful communication and reasonable assistance are fundamental expectations of any accommodation provider. Even when i had to take an emergency call from back home at the breakfast joint, the hosted yelled and asked me to get out, as someone who travels extensively around the world, I found this encounter deeply disturbing, we experienced the treatment as racially discriminatory and felt genuinely unsafe.

  Unbelievably beautiful view and comfortable stay

  Liked: Absolutely amazing mountain setting. i can just sit at the table outside and enjoy that view for hours. Room is not big but has what you need and clean. Delicious breakfast and nice fellow residents.

  Disliked: Not that I don't like, more a note that the owners are a bit strict. Very Swiss, but some Americans might not be used to it. So just letting ppl know. It worked fine for us.

  Nice place for a solo traveller

  Liked: With it being in the centre of Grindelwald, its an ideal base, just a few mins from the train station. The place is good value for money, for those who are wanting accomodation on the cheap. The owners are nice and gave some good advice of the local area and places of interest worth seeing. Breakfast was nice (continental). For the price point and location, you cant go wrong.

  Disliked: Nothing negative to say, knew what I was expecting having read reviews prior to booking.

Please note that only a limited number of private parking spaces is available (reservations are not possible). Public parking is possible in the surroundings at an additional cost.

Please note that the access road is very steep and narrow (as seen on the photo). Snow chains are necessary in winter.

Please also note that in July and August, the road leading up to the hotel is closed between 20:00 and 24:00 on Wednesdays.

Please note that there is no elevator available in the building.

If you arrive with children, please inform the property in advance about their number and age.
