  A very pleasant stay

  Liked: A very enjoyable stay at the Anker. Excellent location about 15 minutes from the train station. Our room was spacious, warm and comfortable and the windows blocked out any noise from the road. Good shower and slept well. Very good and varied breakfast and our meal the first night in the restaurant was tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient and I was so grateful to them for their kindness and help when I mislaid something (eventually found!). Would definitely return and highly recommended.

  Disliked: The one and only disappointing aspect of our stay was the awful towels. The 'waffle' style handtowels were hopeless and the bath towels worn, thin and scratchy. This was surprising, given the good quality of everything else in the hotel.

  Everything you need for a stay near the Altstadt in Lucerne

  Liked: Bed was comfortable, shower & bathroom were great, coffee maker was nice. Great breakfast everyday with lots of choices, nice lounge with wood-burning fireplace for evenings. Staff was very kind & helpful. Location was close to shopping & Altstadt as well as buses & train station. We loved the little balcony outside our room for coffee time.

  Disliked: Pillows were so soft that we had sore necks & headaches from trying to find a comfortable position with them. No hooks in bathroom. The worst thing was that our room was very warm with no way to cool off, especially after the shower had warmed it up. But still a very nice room.
