  Amazing view, lovely setting with very attentive, friendly staff!

  Liked: The view is amazing. The location and view of the area can't be better! The staff is super friendly and it is so convenient having the restaurant there. They had a very nice breakfast with many options. It has all the conveniences you need and you should request a room with a lake view balcony because the view when sitting on a balcony is so pretty.

  Disliked: You are part way up the mountain, so it takes a little while (10 min) to get down to the center of Lugano. But you can either drive (parking is free) or walk or take the funicular or bus down & it is thoroughly worth it because the view is so stunning! You won't see a view like this anywhere else so you don't really mind taking the time to get down because each turn in the road brings another pretty view!

  Liked: Beautiful Location and Views, but the Rooms Leave a Lot to Be Desired The hotel is situated in a beautiful location up on a hill, with stunning views, especially from the restaurant. The staff are genuinely kind, welcoming, and very helpful, which certainly adds to the experience. Breakfast is decent—nothing particularly exciting, but perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, the rooms are where things become disappointing. My room was extremely small, and the bathroom was almost ridiculously tiny. Even getting to the toilet was a challenge. The bed was also small and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Parking is another potential issue. I managed to get a spot, but it was incredibly tight. I would only recommend attempting the parking if you’re very confident in your driving skills and know your car’s dimensions down to the last centimeter! Overall, the beautiful setting, fantastic views, and lovely staff are definite highlights. However, the cramped accommodations, uncomfortable bed, and challenging parking make it difficult to fully recommend this hotel, especially if comfort is a priority.

  Was beautiful to be there

  Liked: Great view. Good breakfast. Nice dining room. Good location. Good housekeeping. Nice room. Quiet, not noisy.

  Disliked: Some hot options would be nice at breakfast, like bacon and eggs. Staff could be a bit more welcoming but they were okay.

  Wonderful

  Liked: Fantastic hotel with exceptional views of Lugano. Comfortable (slightly dated) rooms with fabulous balcony and breathtaking views. Clean and functional room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Because it’s right up the top of the hill, it’s nice and quiet. Excellent and friendly staff. Great restaurant with á la carte menu for dinner. Different special set menu option daily. We had the 3 course set menu each night and it was just brilliant. Excellent presentation. Perfect portion sizes (we only just managed to finish). Fabulous flavours. Great inclusive breakfast. Great pool area. The hotel is dog friendly, but no dogs allowed in the pool area (even if they are well behaved - don’t pee, bark or swim). 300m from the Fanicular down to the lake and back. Or take the fabulous stair path and explore the little walkways and hill side architecture - wear appropriate shoes! (Flat shoes, boat shoes, trainers)

  Disliked: On the first night of our stay we stayed in a triple room (XL double bed and single bed). The single bed was hard (not comfortable), but the double was very comfortable with comfort topper. It would be good for the single bed to also have comfortable mattress topper. Also the bathroom was in slightly poor condition/some things needed fixing and better clean. That said, we still enjoyed our stay so much we extended for another night but moved to a double room with XL double bed. This room was slightly more modern and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and in good condition. It was also on a higher floor, so the view was even better. Still very highly recommended.

Good to know

Guests traveling by public transport can reach the property from the main train station by bus (N.2 and N.4) or by using the funicular Lugano Città TPL. In either ways (buses or funicular) you will arrive to Lugano Centro. From Lugano Centro station there is a direct bus (N.12) to Monte Brè that stops at "Aldesago", 656 feet from the hotel.

For guests with heavy luggage or walking difficulties: please continue 164 feet after the hotel by car, then turn left in order to reach the main entrance.

A deposit may be required at the property.
