Lovely Victorian building and excellent reception staff

Liked: Location on the Hagley Road was ideal for the city (Edgbaston Village tram) as well as day trips by car.

Disliked: We had issues with the room heating and changed to another room which had an air conditioning unit!

    Hotel from hell

    Liked: The location.

Disliked: On arrival at check-in we purchased the breakfast option and paid for it. We were told that breakfast would finish at 11am the following day by the check-in person. On checking into our room we found it was really cold. The bath was discoloured and there was only one towel. The Tv itself was cracked and in my opinion dangerous. There was instructions on the way not to touch radiator and to ring reception from your mobile phone as there was no phone in the room. I contacted reception with my mobile to be told they would turn up the room temperature remotely. After waiting an hour with no change to the temperature i rang reception for the second time. This time we were told to ignore the sign and turn the radiator up manually which also didn't work. We had to leave the hotel then to go to a concert. On our return the room was freezing cold. So much so that I slept in my clothes and coat to try and get warm. We got up in good time for breakfast the following day but when we arrived in the dining room we were told that breakfast had already finished and they couldn't help us. We then had to go to reception and request s refund for the breakfast. We also told the reception of the heating problems with the room and the tv but they didn't seem interested. We were glad to leave.
