Pleasant
Needed last minute booking was a bit skeptical because of the one room but it ended up being exactly what was needed
Poor
Compact but Comfortable: A Last-Minute Stay in Birmingham
Liked: Good location, very clean and comfortable
Disliked: I booked a last-minute stay in a studio room in Birmingham. The space was clean and comfortable, but it was much smaller than I prefer. We were on the top floor, which I didn’t like, as bringing heavy bags up and down the narrow stairs was a struggle. Overall, it was fine for a short stay, but I prefer more space.
Bad
The room was served its purpose exactly, and was good value
Liked: Room was cosy and clean, and quiet.
Disliked: The final details were emailed on the morning of my arrival, after I had left home. So I went to the address on the booking details, which turned out to be incorrect. I managed to contact the property at the number given on the booking details, and the lady gave me the correct address. Getting the keycode was difficult at first as the person said I had to login to my Booking.com account (I do not have one). Not having a smartphone, I could not do this. Eventually a text was sent and I got in OK. The only window in the room was a Velux skylight, and the pole to operate this was the wrong type (the handle on the skylight was non-standard, so the pole would not work. I ended up having to stand on the desk - rather precarious but thankfully without incident.
Poor guest services, rubbish outside property, no hot water, place stunk of cannabis
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Everything
