  Basic, comfortable and great value

  Liked: Lobby and bar/restaurant area is lovely, but can get pretty loud when more than half full. Breakfast was great, lots of options. My room was comfortable, clean and quiet, and was a 10 min walk from the O2 Institute, which was the reason for my stay. The car park is tiny and very narrow, but there were a number of spaces available when I arrived. I assume most guests come by train, as the hotel is very close to New St Station.

  Disliked: Would have been brilliant to have the option of paying for a half day in the car park - I arrived at 1130am and left at 2pm the next day, and it cost me £30, almost as much as the room.

  Liked: Everything was fine. The room was small and basic, but if you just needed a place to sleep and take a shower, it was fine. Clean, warm, and comfortable. Great location, 5 minutes from New Street Station.

  Perfect for a short family stay in the centre of Birmingham

  Liked: Very clean rooms and bathrooms, staff really friendly and helpful, left luggage facility before and after checkout was very welcome. Really good location, nice breakfast and overall very decent value for money for a short stay in Birmingham.

  Disliked: Looks a bit grim outside, but that’s not important. In a bit of a rundown area near New St Station and major shopping district, on the edge of Chinatown.
