  Liked: We’ve stayed before with previous owners New owners made us feel extremely welcome You can have food in the bar or rooms from local takeaways. The breakfast choice was very good ~ hated to see the waste though.

  Disliked: Needs a lot of work done which is happening Had to ask for things in room which should automatically be in there ~ no cups but there was a kettle etc. No toilet rolls.

  Disliked: When we arrived at check in time the bar was closed and full of bags of linen. When we made our way to our room the carpets were coming up and looking very dirty. When we entered our room there was a very unpleasant smell and we had to open all the windows. Breakfast was ridiculous. All the tables hadn’t been cleaned away. I had to do this before getting my breakfast. When I got my breakfast they had run out of most things including forks to eat your breakfast with and glasses to pour your fruit juice in. We ended up walking out of breakfast and going to Morrison’s. I understand it is a cheap and cheerful hotel but honestly there is nothing cheerful about it. Pay the little extra and find somewhere nicer. Would we stay again ….. definitely not.

  Ok for what we needed but would’ve appreciated an update on the facilities

  Liked: Location was good Room was basic but clean

  Disliked: Advertised as having a bar but currently don’t have a license Went for breakfast, no cutlery or glasses left, no bread for toast & had to wait for food to be topped up

  Disliked: Where to start, I read week before that people were saying the bar was closed, so I messaged them and they said it's back open from 14th they were doing it up ok brilliant gets their the hole building is in darkness at 5:30pm met by a man who didn't even know where the key was and said bar is closed no license!! Gave us room key and said breakfast is 8-9 not helpful at all, we picked thus hotel because we had 4 and 6 year old wanted somewhere on a night to have a drink and let them play. stayed in room 33, room extremely run down and filthy huge wet patch on carpet in bedroom from I think shower in bathroom. Beds are solid, hard, 2 double beds with a TV. Crampt and absolutely nothing like the pictures didn't know till I stripped bed on leaving they had poo on the mattres. The breakfast!! Sausages rubbery tasteless, bacon over done and scrambled eggs only even my kids wouldn't eat it they love it normally just sloppy and tasteless, only 2 cereals. Fried bread was nice tho and apple juice. The second night the nice staff said we could sit in the lounge bar bring a drink with us and games with kids but I asked that in the morning and got told no can't drink in their,. OK I understand it wasn't an expensive hotel but 3* maybe 10 years ago not now. Not sure what the set up is but john and the lady seem to be the kitchen staff cleaners/ bar staff then just have random men just walking about 1 of them was the one that grated us on arrival just no idea what is going on, just wired. So no bar apparently getting a renovation but lied about the license and rooms filthy and small no were to relax just bed toilet seat was falling off, and only 1 cup in room marks all over the hole building with leaks stains carpets falling apart.

  Disliked: It was dirty felt like we was sleeping in a dungeon there was marks all over the wall stains on the carpet shower ran too slow and cold not interested when told breakfast was very limited no variety everything would be gone by 8.30 refused to cook anymore the bar area was closed no refreshments available bar snacks are advertised nothing available not even a glass of pop there was holes and gaps on the stepped areas where someone could easily catch there foot and trip the smell was really bad smelt of damp tables was sticky cutlery was dirty absolutely shocking stayed here a while back and it was lovely the reception area was unmanned no security at all
