  Extremely Disappointing Experience – Uninhabitable on Arrival

  Liked: nice interior

  Disliked: We were extremely disappointed with our stay. After a long journey, we arrived at the property during very cold weather, with the real-feel temperature outside at around -1°C, only to find the house completely unprepared and unheated. The temperature inside was just 15°C, which was absolutely unacceptable in such cold conditions and made the property unsuitable for us to stay in. The owner did not answer our phone calls and instead dismissed our concerns with messages and a photo showing us how to light the heating ourselves. However, given that this was a stone house, it would have taken several hours for the property to warm up to a comfortable temperature. After our long journey, this was simply not a reasonable solution, especially when we had expected the accommodation to be warm and ready for our arrival. After carefully considering the situation, we had no choice but to leave the property on the same day, despite the long journey we had already made to get there. The house itself was beautiful and nicely furnished, but unfortunately, that means very little when such a basic requirement as adequate heating is not met. A property that is too cold to stay in upon arrival is simply not fit for purpose, particularly during cold weather. Despite paying for three nights, the owner was only willing to refund £100 of the total amount we had paid. We were therefore left having lost almost all of our money through no fault of our own, while also having to cover additional travel expenses. This experience was a huge disappointment and completely ruined our holiday. We arrived expecting a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, but instead faced an unacceptable situation, a lack of proper communication and a significant financial loss.

  Lovely Cotswold Cottage in a very quiet location close to other pretty villages and towns such as Broadway, Stow on the

  Liked: Gorgeous Cotswolds cottage, beautifully decorated throughout. Had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay.

  Disliked: Some missed cleaning, radiator covers, glass shelves in the bathroom and a small pot with cigarette stubs left on the outdoor table. Did not affect our stay.

  Wonderful!!

  Liked: The location was wonderful, near Chipping Camden. The property was beautifully decorated which gave it a cosy and homey feeling. The garden had a beautiful secluded terras, beautiful flowers and plants, a lovely place to sit and have tea. You could do beautiful walks in the area with the dog.

  Disliked: The central heating panels needs cleaning. The driveway was tiny but do-able. The garden was not fenced.

  We loved the area and the cottage was a relaxing place at the end of the day

  Liked: A cute cottage in a lovely setting. Very well decorated and comfortable with a nice garden. The owner was very welcoming ( yummy cake!) and responded quickly to any communication.

  Disliked: We stayed with another couple and would have appreciated a shower hose in the main bathroom. Some safety rails at stairs and bath would be helpful.
