Liked: Location of the hotel could not be better. Shops, parking and rail/bus station. Nice room very cozy (double storm weekend) option to open windows. I was not informed that I needed to pre book for breakfast and told to 'try the cafe over the road' - which was not helpful in the middle of a storm. They didn't try to any real help!! Tea/coffee & cookies available in the room - however a lack of sockets made using the kettle not an option.
Disliked: The hotel was hosting a wedding - which put a lot of the common areas out of use. Including being unable to invite a friend for dinner as that was for guests only (the wedding was sharing the bar area. I am sure thehotel know this when the room was booked - I would have not booked.

Disliked: The fact there was a band in the bar and it was shaking everything in my room when I went down to see what time it was finishing the lady in glasses looked at me with discu3that I was complaining,she then said would it of stopped you from booking then she totally ignored me and was talking to other guests
A perfect fit for us for our 3-night stay
Liked: The location really cannot be beat - it's a quick 5 minute walk from the train and bus station, and close to so many restaurants & shopping. We also really like staying in older hotels because they have more character and charm. I appreciated the lift to get my suitcases to our floor, and enjoyed the complimentary teas and shortbread biscuits in the room. The staff were very nice and helpful, too.
Disliked: There are random stairs and doors going through the hallways. Once bags are in the room, that's not a big deal. The only other complaint is the TV seemed to be antenna only and none of the channels came through, which begs the question why there's even a TV in the room to begin with?
