    Of great value and pleasant

Liked: All the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Oscar, he helped me so patiently to handle the extension issue. The room was very clean, the facilities were quite new, and the location is close to most sightseeing areas.

Thought the room standard might have been slightly higher for the price

Liked: Shower while basic had good pressure and temperature. Staff were able to provide some clothes hangers which was helpful although this is something basic that I would expect to be in the room already.

Disliked: Empty soap bottles from a previous person were left in the shower. There were hairs throughout the room. The bed linen was very poor quality, must be the cheapest possible but it also felt like it had been used for years. Bed mattress thin.

Disliked: The place smells bad. I also couldn't get an invoice for my stay, even after trying to contact them for 20 days. They use an AI chatbot for their messages.

Beyond a welcoming ground floor, horrors await through cinema screen doors

Liked: The departure was most memorable, having different staff at my departure who showed me grace while dealing with external issues that delayed my departure. The downstairs interior was very welcoming.

Disliked: The business is based in Birmingham, between Glasgow and Birmingham. I received no formal apology for two horrific experiences. It seems that the distance in its management has made it think it is acceptable to treat students horribly. 1. Extremely stressful situation of them trying to cancel my accommodation, and no concern for my welfare that I would have to sleep on the street. The messages they sent using the portal were extremely confusing and not neurodivergent friendly. 2. Treated with infantilization for reporting issues with the bathroom fan. 3. Zero awareness of how issues with the room can affect someone who is neurodivergent, I was offered earplugs!!! The room had an extremely worn-out bathroom fan that sounded like a 1960s diesel locomotive engine was in the room with you, with a faulty timer that would often take 30 to 40 minutes and longer to go off. Part of the issue was lots of dust in the fan, I was told at one point it had been fixed, and it was still caked in dust. So, I cleaned it, and this reduced some of the noise, but it was still like living with a diesel locomotive. The shower tray drain was bunged up, resulting in a paddling pool shower, and the drain stunk. An apparent drain cleaner was applied with a member of staff saying outload how do you use this stuff. Then a second attempt to fix the drain was to remove the cover and leaving this off. I brought drain cleaner and cleaned out much horrible gunk from the drain cover, which helped stop the smell and make the water drain better. The bin room is in the most confusing place, through a corridor that says bedrooms over it and laundry is also hard to find, down a series of corridors. The desk chairs are cheap plastic playschool-type chairs, only height lift and not a back adjuster lever to stop tilting back too far. Cupboards in kitchen missing room numbers, and cookers have very faint, worn-out lettering on controls.
