Interesting, thematic hotel, but rooms are too hot

Liked: This place has a cool vibe, and some of the staff were super helpful, but overall it didn't meet our expectations.

Disliked: The location is next to a soup kitchen/shelter and was a little sketchy at night. The room was too hot and even though we asked if the desk could turn the heater off (three times), they just couldn't figure it out. Aparently it's controlled by a main panel at reception. There are no windows to open either. It took 3 hours for their staff to bring up a fan which when brought up, was delivered by the bartender. I think they may have been short of staff and in overwhelm with other people asking for fans. The bartender had several fans when she delivered mine. This is not the place for you if you are the type who needs open windows or a cool room.

    Would not recommend

Liked: The hotel is pretty, but rooms are so small and claustrophobic.

Disliked: Unfortunately, my experience at the hotel was disappointing, primarily due to the excessive temperature in the room, which made it extremely uncomfortable to stay in. I appreciate that it was October and the weather conditions were particularly stormy, so I understand the need for heating. However, the temperature in my room reached 27.5°C, and I was unable to adjust it manually. I contacted reception, who advised that the heating had been switched off. Despite this, the room remained unbearably hot throughout the night, and the temperature appeared to revert to 27.5°C. The fan provided was insufficient to make the room comfortable and seemed to circulate warm air rather than cool it. As a result, I was unable to sleep and ultimately had to leave the hotel shortly after 6 a.m. The inability to control the room temperature significantly affected my stay, and I believe guests should have the ability to adjust the temperature within their own rooms to ensure a comfortable environment. I also found the room itself particularly small and somewhat claustrophobic, which further contributed to my discomfort. On a more positive note, the hotel is beautifully presented, and the breakfast appeared lovely. Unfortunately, due to the lack of sleep and the need to leave early, I was unable to experience the food. When showering the whole toilet get soaking wet including the toilet seat which is poor design. I also felt uncomfortable with the location of the hotel entrance directly beside a homeless soup kitchen, where people queue outside the entrance. I fully appreciate that this is not the hotel's responsibility, and I have no issue with the service itself. However, on entering and leaving the hotel, I experienced inappropriate comments from individuals while wearing a dress, which made me feel uncomfortable. Although this is beyond the hotel's control, it did negatively affect my overall experience and would be a factor in my decision not to return.

Disliked: Only drawback was the AC/fan in the room wasn't very strong so it was quite warm.
