    Disappointing

    Liked: Attractive building

Disliked: Very dark and depressing. It is trying to be edgy but just feels sombre and drab. Breakfast is in the restaurant but the lighting was so dark customers and staff were struggle to read menus and tablets. Really depressing No local beers or produce, we were told all Malmaison have to be the same so you know what you are getting. Surely part of the experience of travelling is feeling you are somewhere different. If I wanted consistency with no excitement I would have booked Pemier Inn…. Have a think about your customer experience, you are in the hospitality industry, the same formula is bland and decor depressing not trendy.

Too grey, dark and gloomy. Cheer the decor - it really needs a revamp!

Liked: The location was good and the beds were very comfortable

Disliked: It was really gloomy! We had a black and grey carpet and dark grey walls with heavy grey curtains that didn’t draw back fully. The lighting was just dreadful and I couldn’t see to put make up on or dry my hair. After three days in darkness it was a relief to leave! I felt I was staying in a cave. What’s with all the gloomy grey - especially as the weather is grey enough.
