  Great location with parking. Very good breakfast

  Liked: The breakfast was great. All very fresh and hot. Plenty to eat.

  Disliked: The room looked like it was partly re- decorated but in places had peeling paint, particularly on the radiator and window sill and woodwork was patchy in condition. The shower cubicle was good and the shower looked new but the light cord was very grubby and the plastic toilet seat was wonky.

  Handy central ask for a room at the back

  Disliked: Noise level didn’t sleep at all noise on the street was terrible shouting and swearing on the high street went on to 5 am then the next floor above us was like a herd of elephants at 6 in the morning must had the hard boots on

  Liked: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Outstanding – Exceptional Staff and Amazing Service! I am honestly, honestly, honestly blown away by this hotel! I have never experienced such incredibly helpful, kind and accommodating staff in my life. This is the first time I have ever felt so strongly about a hotel that I simply had to leave a review! We paid a very reasonable price for our stay, yet the level of service we received was absolutely exceptional. The staff kindly extended our check-out time by an extra hour and a half because we desperately needed the time to attend an important video conference. Not only that, but they upgraded us to a family room at no extra cost so that we would have a table to work at during our meeting. I was genuinely shocked by their kindness and willingness to help us! The hotel itself is beautiful, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right in the city centre. There is parking available, and the food is delicious. Breakfast is available at an additional cost, but the quality is excellent and well worth it. What impressed us most, however, was the way the staff treated us. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Despite paying so little for our stay, we were treated as though we were the most important guests in the hotel. THIS is what hospitality should look like! Every hotel should treat its guests this way. It is not just about a beautiful building or a great location; it is about the people who make you feel welcome, valued and genuinely cared for. A massive thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. You have set the bar incredibly high for every other hotel we stay in from now on! We will most definitely be coming back, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone without the slightest hesitation. Absolutely outstanding service, wonderful staff, a beautiful hotel and fantastic value for money. A well-deserved 10/10! ❤️

Please note that the car park at The Star Hotel has a limited capacity and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, at a cost of GBP 7 per day for cars and GBP 9 for vans.

Due to the style of the building, there are narrow and steep stairs leading to the rooms, which may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.Parking is subject to availability due to limited spaces.

Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.
