Small historic cortage with some issues

Liked: This is a small, traditional cottage in a central location in St Ives.

Disliked: There were a few issues unfortunately: - The double bed seemed very cheap and the bedding, although clean, was clearly well used and in need of refreshing. - The fridge was missing a full shelf and bottle shelf in the door, making in quite difficult to store our perishables. - The bathroom smelt damp throughout our stay despite keeping the window open throughout as instructed. The bathroom is very small! - I don’t think the cost aligned with the quality of our stay unfortunately. - We chose to leave the cottage 2 days early as damp conditions and uncomfortable bedding is not ideal.

Liked: Great location, house was cosy and had everything we needed

Disliked: Not a criticism as is somewhat inevitable with St Ives, but note parking is 20-25min walk away

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location

Liked: The cottage was simply perfect, in a fantastic location on fish street, the harbour being a 3 minute walk away the famous sloop pub being at the bottom of the street and the wonderful mermaid restaurant being at the top of the street. The cottage comes with a free car park space which is a real gem as parking in st Ives especially peak season is a headache, the car park is a good distance away but we soon realised there’s a bus that runs very regular that picks you up and drops you off for £2’s and that’s at the bus stop on porthmeour beach. Inside the cottage you’ll find a lovely cozy feel and the cottage is very well fitted out with everything you need, very fluffy towels and the beds are very comfy too. Emma was at hand if there was anything we needed to know. From booking to paying and getting the key it was a very smooth experience. Would I stay again, oh absolutely it’s 5 stars from us. We had a asda delivery to drop off food which was brilliant. We ate out at The mermaid which we pre booked a few weeks before going on holiday, also the Reef & Beef, The Loft, The Union twice, there is a Pizza Hut on the harbour called stoned so we ordered pizza one evening and took that down to the beach with a few beers that was nice to watch the sun set. People are extremely friendly and with such a laid back atmosphere it’s definitely a place to visit and staying at this sandals cottage was simply the cherry on top of the cake.

Disliked: There’s nothing to dislike, it’s perfect.
