We only used the bar and pool in the hotel. But all the staff were help full and friendly

Constructive criticism
Liked: We liked our accommodation. It was clean and had everything we needed. The maintenance person arrived almost immediately when we reported an electrical fault. The man at the entrance gate was very helpful and friendly. The staff in the Castle itself were very helpful and professional.
Disliked: We didn't like having to pay for the use of the swimming pool. We didn't particularly like paying the service charge of 12.5% which was added on to our bills. Although it appears to be the norm in most of the places we ate or drank in in St Ives. Our accommodation was adequate, but the noise from the road was a bit intrusive.
Liked: Beautiful views, 10 min walk from everywhere.
Disliked: Wish the outdoor pool was heated.
Liked: We really liked the bedrooms and the parking also the access path to the harbour hotel as was attending a wedding there
Disliked: Not enough comfortable seating in the sitting room. We were all tightly packed in two sofas, needs more furniture or footstools
3 night stay at St Ives
Liked: The grounds were extremely well landscaped with the picturesque castle and gardens creating an amazing atmosphere. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. As a self contained lodge it had a fully equipped kitchen and cooking appliances. Relatively close to fantastic Porthminster Beach. Ocean views from the room. We used the swimming pools and kids playground.
Disliked: No washing machine. The parking for our lodge was difficult: entry through a separate gate from the main castle entry and down a loose gravel road. Our vehicle (hire van) had some trouble with traction getting back up hill.
