Lovely hotel. Wonderful staff. Made our final stay in Ghent memorable

Liked: We had stayed at the Comic Arts Hotel before and really loved it. Now it has become the Urbanist Hotel is is going through a makeover but has still the excellent and helpful staff and good and varied breakfast. As we were staying for a long period we had the largest room which was ideal for our purposes.

Disliked: There were a couple of technical glitches. The air-con wasn't working properly but with the help of the staff we found a workround. an exceptional rainstorm caused a leak, but again staff responded promptly and the problem didn't re-occur. The hotel compensated us for the inconvenience.

Top emotive for what you get

Liked: Brilliant location - central but a quiet canal side

Disliked: Felt clean but quite basic. Bathrooms lovely. The entrance courtyard and reception were not 4 * - everything is a necessary extra. Apart from the umbrellas which were very handy to borrow!
