    nice hotel, solid location

Liked: The hotel location is super convenient across the Gent St Pieter station. A very spacious room, with lots of ways to put away your stuff, a large wardrobe and even in the bathroom were many options. When i checked in, the room and bathroom was just cleaned and appeared properly clean. Initially it seemed my room at the front/street side was letting in a lot of light at night, when I found out out there is a shutter that can close all the way down all light was gone, so i did get a good sleep after all. The room even had a convenient small refrigerator that can actually fit larger bottles, not one of those tiny minibars. The beds were quite soft, which I liked, thats a personal preference, some disagree on that. I did not try the breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

Disliked: When pulling out the keycard when exiting the room it shuts off the lights in the room, also in the hallway the light was off by default, the hallway light sensor did not see me exiting the room I think which made it oddly dark exiting the room at night. The light switches around the around the room were a guess and some did nothing, the small desk lamp next to the bed did work thankfully. The hotel street door to the rooms is somewhat oddly located on the other side of the restaurant's terrace, making it so you have to pass past people sitting at the tables to get back inside to your room.

Good choice if you will use the central station

Liked: If you are using the train station- the location is just perfect. Also there is a good public transport to the “old town”.

Disliked: No soundproofing. You can hear everything from outside.

Would not recommend. Find somewhere else on the T1 tramline

Liked: Check in staff member was pleasant. Location is great (directly across from train station and tram stop). Bed was comfy!

Disliked: The water smelled, which made me very uncomfortable using to brush teeth or wash (ive never experienced smelly water from a tap before but it strongly smelled) Everytime housekeeping came to the room they made the bed, replaced my bottled water and took my towel. They didnt need to take the towel but thats ok except they didnt replace it. In 3 nights I lost 3 towels, meaning I had to say no to house keeping on night 4 or risk not being able to get my stinky shower. Reception is next door and I left for work around 7am and came back at night so didnt want to have to go next door when I just wanted to shower and collapse. The Internet was very poor and the TV was powered via the Internet so it was unwatchable. The one time it did load a channel for me it buffered every few mins or the screen went off. French door in room wasn't fully sealed at the bottom meaning it was always cracked open slightly so all loud noises outside could be heard.

Good stay. Excellent value for money

Liked: For me the location was excellent - in front of the train station and half an hour ride to the city centre. The room was good in size and clean. It didn’t overlook the square and therefore it was quiet which I liked very much. The staff is polite and helpful. The breakfast is quite basic, but I found everything I usually have for breakfast. Excellent value for money!

Disliked: The hotel rooms do not have AC. I knew it when I made the reservation. For me it was not a problem, because I stayed in the second half of September. There is a fan in the room though.

    Very disappointed

Liked: Across the road from the train station The room was clean Good wifi It had a kettle and mini fridge

Disliked: From the moment you got there you didn’t feel welcomed. The reception was not what I was expecting. Walking to the lift it resembled a hostel not a hotel. It was grubby and scruffy. The lifts only went partially to your room you had to walk up another 10 steps. The carpet had suspicious stains everywhere. Although the room was clean the bed was old and very soft. The water pressure very low. Breakfast was not worth the money you paid. There was only enough scramble eggs for two people. There were at least 10 people that I saw at the time. There was boiled eggs and bacon that was so crisp. Not much else expected for a few slices of bread, a few slices of cheese and ham and pastries. Unfortunately the coffee machine had been broken for 1 week they are hoping to be fixed in the next day or so. We had hot water with coffee in sachets which were disgusting. I would not recommend or stay there again.

    Ideally situated for train station

Liked: Very close to train station 👍

Disliked: Could probably do with a bit upgrading and had small issue with lack of hot water but resolved quickly enough
