  Liked: We had a wonderful stay at Koeketiene in Ghent. From the first message to checkout, Fran and Maarten were the most attentive hosts. They sent clear arrival instructions beforehand and were always ready to help during our stay. It felt like being welcomed into a friend’s home rather than checking into a hotel. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. As parents travelling with our young daughter, we especially loved the bathtub, which made bath time easy after long days of sightseeing. Little details like the tea and coffee maker and bathrobes were a nice touch too. The location is excellent. Gent-Sint-Pieters station is only a few minutes’ walk away, so getting around Belgium is easy, with trains to Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp, plus trams into Ghent’s old town. Beautiful Citadelpark is right nearby for a relaxed morning stroll with kids. Cleanliness, a friendly host, convenient transport and a family-friendly room are what matter most to us when we travel, and Koeketiene delivers all of them. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it to families, especially first-time visitors to Ghent who want a stress-free base. Thank you, Fran and Maarten, for your wonderful hospitality! 🙏

  Good B&B run by a very nice family

  Liked: Good location, lovely hosts and the hosts run a breakfast/lunch restaurant downstairs.

  We hope you, too, have the opportunity to meet Fran and Martin and enjoy their warm hospitality

  Liked: Our 2-night stay was the perfect way for us to complete an extended vacation trip to the Netherlands and Belgium. It was very conveniently located near both railway and ground transportation, the room was spacious and well-appointed, and the bed was th most comfortable one we had slept on in 2 weeks! Delicious breakfasts and lunches, but most importantly, the proprietors, Fran and Martin, were kind, friendly, engaging, and patient with our numerous questions about the Ghent area; we left feeling as if we had warmly connected with family members, not just business people.

  A lovely short break with fantastic hosts

  Liked: The Koeketiene Rooms is located a short walk from the main railway station, and it was very easy to find. There are good bus and tram links into the city centre, and it is easily walkable, but takes about 25 minutes or so. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. We were allowed to leave our bags early to explore the city before check in, and the room itself was lovely. It was clean and airy, with high ceilings and plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept very well due to the neighbourhood being very quiet. The bathroom was very clean and had all toiletries provided. The shower was very good too. Fran gave us some helpful tips on places to visit which was very much appreciated, and on the last day we had a delicious and filling breakfast cooked by Maarten. It was especially nice to be able to enjoy breakfast in the garden in the sunshine, and being able to meet their very friendly ( and chatty) cat, and the lovely, but less chatty tortoise!

  Disliked: There was really nothing not to like. Fran and Maarten were fantastic hosts, the room and neighbourhood was lovely and quiet. We were made to feel very comfortable, and it was a really enjoyable stay.
