Good
Spacious bed-and-breakfast accommodation near downtown Ghent and Dampoort station
Liked: The room ("rock'n'roll") is spacious and well-lit. It has a private bathroom, comfortable beds, and a couch. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. Leonard is a great host. Breakfast is served à la carte in the room, so I was able to have fresh eggs with bacon or a warm fried egg prepared just for me; there’s also a wide selection of everything you’d normally find in a store. My dog was welcome and felt right at home in the spacious room.
Disliked: Neutral: I was given a different room than the one I booked on Booking.com. I can't say whether it was the same size or had the same amenities. Some rooms are on the 3rd floor, and there is no elevator. Negative: The kitchen on the first floor is shared with the other rooms, and I often found it to be quite dirty (though that's not Leonard's fault, it's worth mentioning). There's also very little cutlery. The Rock ’n’ Roll Room doesn’t have a proper desk with a matching chair. Since there’s still space, I recommend providing at least a regular kitchen chair or office chair if guests want to work in the room. It would also be more comfortable for eating than on the couch table. The house has thin walls.
A great base from which to explore Gent
Liked: A great location and a lovely place to stay. Leonard is a welcoming host and is clearly a kind soul. The perfect place for people with an artistic heart to explore the delightful city of Gent and all it has to offer.
Disappointing
Liked: Location - just 10 minutes to centre
Disliked: The rooms need looking after. Bedding and bathroom clean but generally all the rest needs a good clean - room and “kitchen”. There is little cost to this - just some effort. Themed rooms a good idea but cleanliness is a must.
Great find!
Liked: In a great quiet location, the room was comfortable and artistically interesting very reasonable priced.Would stay there again 😃
great place! would definitely stay there again
Liked: very spacious and comfortable room; nice host; great location
Disliked: the room was clean and modern overall, but some parts of it could be cleaner and more functional, for example the shower had very low water pressure
Liked: Five minutes to downtown
Disliked: No elevator, very expensive rate. We paid 130 euros for a friday night and the room snd the place is useless for that price, should be around 80/90.
