A perfectly functional hotel. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located

Liked: We had a decent stay at voco Ghent, although I wouldn't say the hotel offered particularly outstanding value for money. Its biggest selling point is undoubtedly the location. It's conveniently situated close to the Flanders Expo convention centre, with the T1 tram nearby providing an easy connection to Ghent's city centre. Getting around was straightforward, making it a particularly practical choice if you're visiting for a convention or event. The hotel was clean, with soft, comfortable beds and dark blackout curtains, giving you everything you need for a good night's rest.

Disliked: The walls seemed quite thin, with noise from neighbouring rooms carrying through more than we'd have liked. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was unreliable and kept dropping out, which was frustrating. We didn't purchase the breakfast buffet, so I can't comment on the food itself. However, from what we could see while passing through the hotel, the selection didn't appear particularly extensive for the price being charged.

Good hotel, especially close to the Expo during an event

Liked: Room, parking, reception all were decent. The new updates to the hotel look to be efficient and good. Our room was decent and the bed was nice and fluffy.

Disliked: The breakfast experience was a bit unusual. We've stayed here before and usually, when we decide to add breakfast we can just charge it to the room but in this case we had multiple moments of confusion on when to pay for breakfast. The first morning we had to pay after the fact, the second we could pay when we entered and the third was enter, wait a bit, I'll be with you in a min and then pay. Normally I would've just expected to add it to the room and charge at checkout. It wasn't a big issue but it was a bit confusing.

We will return to this hotel, but will probably not bother eating there. Plenty of excellent restaurants in town to cho

Liked: We have stayed here many times in the past but it has recently been nicely refurbished. Location is good for getting out and about using the tram network. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Food was disappointing. We ate in the hotel on our last night and there was only a limited buffet. Breakfast was poor and very expensive. We were not late down for breakfast but there was very little left by the time we arrived and staff didn’t seem to be replenishing what had run out.

    Great hotel, terrible staff

Liked: The hotel itself is great

Disliked: The staff on the other hand, completely unqualified for service and clearly not trained appropriately. The front desk staff was rude and dismissive, the restaurant staff are just completely oblivious.

Very good place, however not excellent

Liked: Proximity to Flanders Expo (where we had the event) and proximity to tram station are very good.

Disliked: There are no cheap groceries in proximity. There are Q8 and Bio-planet nearby, but they are quite expensive.

Comfortable stay in a quiet location

Liked: A really really comfortable and beautifully designed hotel. I can say this is one of the best business hotel I have stayed. Comfortable big bed and a great shower, that’s all you need after a long day at work. Also, it is a 20mins tram (T1) right to the city centre. Perfect stay for me.

Disliked: 1. Essentials like cottonbud have to be requested at the counter. 2. Uber doesn’t have the hotel properly located, so you have to walk to the expo to board at the right pickup location. The road are really tricky so the uber driver will just cancel on you if they make the wrong turn. 3. The hotel breakfast was almost perfect, just missing the famous Belgium waffle. That will be a nice local touch to your breakfast spread.
