  Liked: I really liked the nice and welcoming gentleman at the reception desk as well as the spaciousness and cleanliness of both the room and the bathroom

  Disliked: The cupboard with glasses and plates was placed way too high. So I had to fetch a chair in order to grab those. But that is really the only thing that could have been better.

  Liked: Staff friendliness. Breakfast was ok however would be good to have some hot breakfast options too

  Liked: The location is perfect to get everywhere on foot.

  Disliked: The lift was out of order. A staff member helped to take the luggage up to our room, 2nd floor. However, my wife has fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis in her knees, so spent a lot of time in pain, having to climb 4 flights of stairs every time we went out and came back. The toilet didn't flush, so we had to remove the back panel every time and pull a lever to make it work. We showed a member of staff, he claimed he couldn't understand what we were saying, but he did go on to show us how to flush it by removing the back panel! What really finished it for us was when we returned to our room, after being out all day, our key cards didn't work. We went to reception and was told we had booked extra days when we arrived but hadn't paid for them. Having shown them the receipt clearly staring that the room was paid for in full at the time of booking, they then said it was parking that we owed for 3 further days. We paid this on arrival when we checked in! Apparently, when we checked in, we should have been told we could only pay for a week at a time, not 10 days! Very much their mistake!! There conveniently wasn't a manager to talk to, there was no apology and our room remained locked until we paid, what they claimed, we owed! When asking what the situation would have been had the reception closed before us returning the receptionist suddenly lost all ability to speak English. She spoke perfect English prior to that! We've been going to this hotel for 14 years and have never experienced anything like this time. Will we be going back........probably not!! Thank you Residehotel for a very memorable holiday!!!

  Room is dirty: bathroom and curtains, staff was not helpful

  Liked: Was close to uni

  Disliked: Staff was smoking and the smoke went through open window. Bathroom was dirty. Towels do not absorb water and never changed.

  Liked: Quiet location, walking distance to centre, complementary tea/coffe/water

  Disliked: Hob did not work, plates and cutlery had food residue, were not cleaned properly, bin cover was dirty and had unpleasant odour
