Fabulous
Liked: The host Sylvia was very responsive and kind. The location was great. The place had everything you need for a few days stay.
Disliked: I didn't like that the apartment was on the ground floor and that, in order to preserve privacy the blinders had to be down all the time, resulting in less natural light. The room was too close to the main street. Just something to pay attention to if you are sensitive to that. But it was safe.
Absolutely charming!
Liked: Lovely comfortable apartment very well located for Parma attractions. Bright and welcoming, a lot of thought and care has gone into the decor. Silvia is a very helpful and friendly host.
Liked: Eventually the host was helpful and could arrange the initial request. The room we got was in a good location, clean, nice.
Disliked: There was an option on booking.com to check-in earlier and it costed extra. It was important for us to to check-in earlier, but that room with a kitchen was not available, so we got another room without a kitchen in another part of the city. While somebody could perceive it as an upgrade of the room and the host was helpful and quick to arrange it over the phone while we were yet in route, we came for a football match and the initial room was preferred because of both: proximity to a stadium and the kitchen. To make a long story short: do not use that early check-in option at booking.com. Instead, you will receive another link from the accommodation, where you can choose that option if applicable/feasible.
Great location for not such a great price
Liked: The location is the highlight of La Casa del Vino. Near all the attractions but still in a quiet alley. Great contact with our host Silvia too.
Disliked: The standard seemed a bit low considering the price paid, however maybe it was due to the ongoing Antique Fair in Parma. However, it would be nice to receive a better quality of towels and bedsheets. It was clean enough, but I feel the whole apartment could use a proper deep-cleaning. Not necessarily a drawback, but still - have in mind that the shower is very small and a larger person could have a problem even entering it. Same with narrow staircase that leads to the apartment. The placement of apartments in the building, right beside the staircase is such that anytime somebody enters / leaves you hear very loud “buzz” of the door - we managed to sleep okay, despite that, but it can be considered a nuisance for some.
