Exceptional
Comfy spot in the middle of Pompei
Liked: The location is great, a short walk to the ruins, near the piazza, in the midst of great food and drinks. The room was roomy and clean.
Booking.com site needs to be updated to reflect these inaccuracies
Liked: Location was good, had a quirky elevator that worked which was important since its a 4th floor location.
Disliked: Pictures showed full kitchen and apartment rental was for 3 bedroom 3 bathroom full apartment. When we got there, there was a major “miscommunication” the person who was supposed to meet us was in the hospital and we had to pick up keys from the bar down stairs. We were given one set of keys. Got upstairs and it wasn’t an apartment with a kitchen but more like a subdivided hostel with desk where the living room should have been. The kitchen had multiple tables in it no sink, dishes or refrigerator and each bedroom was locked off. I had to contact the person in the hospital and get another set of keys. This produced only 2 rooms, not the 3 that was advertised and paid for. Each room had very small refrigerators that were plugged in and on but were not cold. I was traveling with medication that needs to be refrigerated. About 15 minutes into being in our rooms which we assumed were ours exclusively another couple unlocked and opened the front door and went into the third locked bedroom. Luckily we weren’t in our pajamas or less in the “apartment”we assumed was ours. Communication resulted in apologies and promises for corrections the next morning. We were given a nice basket of food as compensation and the next night we had three rooms, but still no working kitchen. Advertising was for free breakfast which ended up being some cookies, prepackaged toast, jam and a coffee maker and tea pot with tea.
Not the Pompeii B&B property
Liked: We booked Pompeii B&B for the amazing looking breakfast the city/Vesuvias views, and the wellness spa per the advert. Our accommodation was changed before we travelled. Communication was via WhatsApp and not booking.com, not sure why, as booking.com has a translate option. Major maintenance was taking place so we were hosted in a basement apartment. View was a painted brick wall. Andrea agreed we could have breakfast at the original B&B but then we were told to go to a cafe he arranged where we could have coffee or juice and a pastry. Lady was lovely but not the breakfast we expected. On arrival to Pompeii, the 25 min walk from the station took 1 hour 43mins as directions given one bit at a time so had to keep stopping get signal send picture and wait for next instruction. I appreciate Andrea was trying to be very helpful but when you have never been somewhere before you don't know what you are looking for. For example take the "easiest train" we didn't know what that was. Any how Andrea said he was in hospital so appreciate his time. No tea/coffee facility as in B&B so only a kettle. We would have had to buy tea coffee milk etc. Disappointed with the whole saga as not what we had taken our time to choose and book but grateful we had somewhere to sleep and wash. We had to leave €30 cash for city tax, on the table with keys on checking out. Never met staff only a lady who handed us the keys and phoned Andrea for me, but he needed contact by WhatsApp. B&B sounds nice and has great reviews. This property was ok for those wanting a whole apartment. The cafes and restaurants in the local area were all lovely and reasonably priced. Tip, Pompeii Scavi station is 25 minutes walk from the apartment but the nearest station is Pompeii Santuario and a 5 minute walk from the property. Its on the green line, so from Naples you need the end destination to read Poggiomarino NOT platform 1 it will be 3 or 4. This line is not as busy.
Disliked: The sofa was uncomfortable to sit on. No view from the windows as basement apartment.
A perfect stay
Liked: Perfect location,6 minutes from the train station and the entrance to Pompeii.Spacious clean room in a property with all the infra structure needed including an umbrella as it rained one morning. Good communication with the owner via Watts App ensured location and keys to my room were there on arrival. Not as noisy from the street below as anticipated from previous reviews in fact the room it self, was surrounded in silence which ensured good sleep. Excellent value for money and most important an elderly gentleman on his own felt very safe.
Disliked: nothing
Helpful owner and good location
Liked: Location Owner very helpful in securing parking
Liked: Everything
