Good
Disliked: I had no contact with anyone at the property, was charged full price and never received any details on how to get into the property or further information despite me sending multiple emails, that I got no response to. They also tried to take an extra 250 euros as a 'deposit' from my bank account without notice prior to the stay while I had advised them I would be in an aeroplane for the coming hours. This led to my card being blocked and being left without money at 1130pm at night and no details how to get to or into the property. My bank is now investigating as they suspect it may be fraudulent. Definitely do not book here.

Disliked: Our stay at Laranjeiras Deluxe was extremely disappointing and nothing like what was advertised. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the property was in poor condition and not properly maintained. • The main shower room was taped off and out of order, which we were not informed about beforehand. One of our guests has a disability and required that shower, and she was forced to book a separate hotel at her own cost. • The bathroom door handle was broken, and people were getting locked inside — a serious safety hazard. • The kitchen was infested with cockroaches, including inside the fridge and on the countertops. This made it impossible to store or prepare food safely, especially with children around. • The WiFi barely worked outside the living room, several lights were not working, and there were many other small but frustrating maintenance issues. We tried to contact the host multiple times, both through the Airbnb chat and directly, but they completely ignored our messages and offered no assistance throughout the stay. Overall, the property was unsanitary, unsafe, and misleadingly advertised. We’ve requested a refund and reimbursement for the extra hotel expenses. I strongly advise future guests to avoid this listing until these issues are fully resolved.
Cockroach-infested apartment — avoid this property

Disliked: This apartment was a huge disappointment and nothing like what we expected from the photos. While the furniture was technically the same, in reality everything was old and worn out. First of all, the listing mentioned two showers, but one of them had a large sign saying it could not be used. With six people, it was extremely difficult to manage with just one shower. Even worse, there was a cockroach infestation everywhere. They were running across the kitchen drawers, among the cutlery, and on the floor. Living and especially eating in the apartment was unbearable. We were forced to only use the place to sleep and had to eat all our meals outside, even breakfast for the kids, because nobody wanted to touch anything inside. When we contacted the owner, the only response was to ask what kind of cockroaches they were, instead of solving the problem. We requested compensation but received nothing. We stayed four days with young children in a foreign country, and moving to another apartment would have caused us serious difficulties. Still, this place was unacceptable. We even have video proof if anyone is interested. Instead of enjoying a new country and relaxing, this apartment created terrible conditions for our stay. We are attaching photos as proof.

Liked: Great location with nice restaurants and shop close by. Not far from the city centre in an UBER. Large apartment suitable for families with two bathrooms!

Not quite as advertised
Disliked: The stove did not work properly. It needs to be replaced, and I don't think we were the first to experience its defect. We were unable to cook in the kitchen even though that was part of the property offering. Someone did come by while we were out to fix the stove, but it shut down again the next night. Staff became unresponsive after being notified again that it was still unusable. No compensation was offered for the cost of spoiled groceries, subsequent meals when we were forced to dine out or the stress this caused at the end of a long day. After sending the requested video of the stove not working I was told that I was using too many burners. Seriously? Perhaps we should have been advised of the stove sensitivities beforehand. Additionally, lights were not working in the kitchen and in other rooms. Fans were not delivered even after several requests. Main bathroom needs reno. On the plus side, there was a lot of space, enough linens, comfortable furniture and beds, and it was near the Metro, grocery stores and some good places for breakfast. The staff that checked us in were also quite helpful. If the stove had worked or had the property owners been more oriented to client satisfaction, we wouldn't be leaving this property feeling a bit ripped off and would likely rebook for next year.

Liked: It was a very good experience. The apartment was very spacious, clean, there were parking spaces nearby and we had no problems finding parking. Excellent location. A puzzle was left for the children to play with. They were happy. There were many mirrors, the owner took care of everything necessary for a comfortable stay.
Disliked: The only problem was a broken door in one of the showers. More precisely, the door was simply missing and it was impossible to take a shower. I’m not the first person to write about this and I think it’s time to take action. Bed sheets for guests who were supposed to sleep on the sofa was not left in a visible place.
