  Excellent location, good free breakfast, well-maintained facilities

  Liked: 1. Excellent location, right by the river and walkable distance to the station and most places. 2. The front office staff is very friendly and accommodating. 3. The rooms are clean and airy with a fan provided per room. It can get stuffy with so many people per room, so that fan helps a bit. 4. Very good complimentary breakfast.

  Disliked: 1. To get to the hostel from the Bern station, you have to take a very steep hill down which can be challenging with luggage. However, there is a very convenient Marzili Funicular that is included in the Bern ticket, but this info is missing from the listing. They should add it so that people know. 2. The facilities listing said there would be a wall-power-socket by each bed, but it was obstructed by the bed frame. So you would either have to struggle to fit your adapter in the wall socker or use the ultra-slow charger next to the bed lamp.

  Swiss YH, very comfy budget accommodation

  Liked: Very well maintained, with spacious 6-bed/ 3 bunk room. Key-controlled door, own large bag locker, and late entry for night door. Modest German-style breakfast, gets congested especially for ☕️! 10 mins to main station, gives city Libero card for free local buses and furnicular up to station level (from hostel)

  Disliked: Kitchen had two coffee machines, but only one in use. Could get crowded with three showers and 3 toilets for maybe five rooms on our floor.

  Comfortable and sufficient stay

  Liked: Breakfast was simple yet sumptuous, good variety. Rooms were clean. Free public transport was appreciated.

  Disliked: No hair dryer. Beds were hard. Lack electrical points.
