  Conveniently located in the heart of Bern's medieval city

  Liked: The hotel is tucked into an authentic medieval building. It was fascinating, and I'm impressed the way they fit rooms and a modern bathroom into the space!

  Disliked: We were on the op floor and I got tired of climbing those tight spiral staircases. But that's what you pay for authenticity.

  Great location, comfortable room, quiet

  Liked: It's a bit of a hike from the train station with the luggage, but once you get there, the location is fantastic. I got a single room. I love that there was a little desk and chair by the window and the view was great -- you could see up to the rose garden, and of course from the rose garden I could see my room, so that was pretty cool. The breakfast was excellent and a real treat considering the cost of meals in Switzerland. The room was quiet and comfortable, and there was even a little sitting area set up, which I think was on another twin bed. The staff was friendly but because they're managing a bar/restaurant, they're sometimes not immediately available.

  Disliked: No issues at all with this place -- I'd stay again.

  It was good value for the money paid

  Great location but poor room and breakfast

  Liked: Location is great. On the main street in Bern, not far from the river and the bear pit.

  Disliked: Room was narrow with just enough room for two beds end to end. Breakfast was very limited. You get a large plate with small portions of meat, cucumber, olives, cheese on. Coffee apears to be dried granules with some hot water added.
