Very good
I would stay there again for the location and the staff
Liked: The location and view of the Matterhorn was amazing. The restaurant was old-school beautiful. The staff were absolutely wonderful.
Disliked: It needs some updating as mentioned in the other reviews. There were old stains in the carpet, the sink didn’t drain properly, the furniture creaked,etc. They also need to put in sensor lights near the stairs on the upper floors, it’s dangerous as you can’t see anything (also mentioned in past reviews).

Liked: The hotel is in a great location up the valley very close to the gondola lift station and away from the dense, cluttered, overly-commercialized part of town closer to the rail station. The nice area near the Kirchbrücke is a short walk away, and stops for the free E-bus are very close. Our room view had an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn and the pretty upper valley without condo clutter. The included breakfast was very good with many options including alternative milks, and the dining room had great views. Staff was very friendly, and we enjoyed drinks in the hotel bar. Our room was very nice with a large balcony, marbled bathroom, wood ceiling, and comfortable bed.
Disliked: The walk from the rail station with luggage was longer than we thought, but the location was worth our walk. Had we known, we could easily have taken the E-bus to our hotel, or paid for one of the electric taxis.
Good to know
Zermatt is a car-free town. Visitors must leave their car in Täsch and take a train or taxi to Zermatt.
Guests can call the hotel before arrival at Zermatt and be picked up from the train station for an extra charge.
