Exceptional
Adorable Alpine hotel with beautiful views and comfortable rooms
Liked: The property was absolutely adorable and a beautiful location! Very comfortable and we loved our balcony and view of the Matterhorn. It was very quiet and a pleasure to stay there.
Disliked: Like most of Zermatt, it’s quite a hill to hike up to get to the hotel but it didn’t interfere with how lovely it was

Liked: Spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms, with many offering beautiful Matterhorn views. Quiet location in the Winkelmatten area, away from the busy village center. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with a decent variety of options. Convenient access to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car and local bus stop.

Amazing views of the Matterhorn. Great stay in a cozy hotel
Liked: Great stay at the Berghof. Really lovely location a little way out of the main village but that suited us (only a 10 minute walk). The shuttle service from the station is fantastic. Lovely staff, gorgeous food, and the most INCREDIBLE views of the Matterhorn from our balcony. Good price point for Zermatt too. Would recommend.
Disliked: Worth mentioning that the path up to the hotel is steep, so maybe not ideal for anyone with mobility issues (although the hotel may have a solution for this). The bathroom was a little dated but that is really being picky. The only thing I would say is that the terrace blankets were a bit dirty.
Liked: Beautiful, cosy yet stylish Swiss chalet hotel. Superb spa and pool area. Lovely internal decor. Immaculately clean. Stunning views of the Matterhorn from balcony and gardens. Ambient outside sitting area, truly delightful. Breakfast varied and good quality. Taxi pick up and drop off to station very efficient. Location great, just 10 minute walk to centre of town..
Disliked: A coffee machine /kettle would make it perfect

Outstanding stay!
Liked: The hotel is gorgeous with amazing views of the Matterhorn and the most beautiful SPA I ever enjoyed. This was definitely a luxurious stay yet very family friendly. You can hear the marmots calling in the evening as well as the bells from local cows and sheep. The added convenience of having the gondola right next to the hotel and the free bus to town down the hill was amazing. We had the best time at hotel Bergof and hope to be back in a few years!
Disliked: It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room to keep snacks and drinks fresh and cold. We also got a bit hot at night and had no control over the temperature of the room.
