Pleasant
Poorly maintained accommodation, unacceptable customer service and no accountability
Disliked: Poorly maintained accommodation, unacceptable customer service and no accountability An extremely disappointing stay from start to finish. Firstly, the door access code provided did not work, and it took approximately two hours to resolve the issue. Once inside, the room was dusty, and there were visible signs of damp and mould in the bathroom. On the morning of my second day, I discovered that the bathroom ceiling was leaking extensively. I immediately reported this to the property, only to receive a rude and accusatory response claiming that I had caused the problem by switching on the extractor fan, despite the switch having been taped over. I had not touched the extractor fan, and made this clear. Rather than acknowledging that their accusation was unfounded, the property simply glossed over the issue. More concerningly, the taped-up switch strongly suggests that the property was already aware of a problem with the extractor fan. As the bathroom has no window, disabling its mechanical ventilation also raises obvious concerns, particularly given the existing signs of damp and mould. Although the leak was eventually dealt with, the property's handling of the situation was appalling. Maintenance problems can happen, but blaming guests without establishing the facts, particularly when there are indications of a pre-existing issue, is completely unacceptable. Following my stay, I raised a formal complaint and requested a partial refund. The property rejected the complaint, taking no apparent responsibility for the numerous problems encountered. For £180, I expected considerably better than a dirty, poorly maintained room, a two-hour delay fixing the door code, a leaking bathroom ceiling and hostile customer service. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
Liked: The host was brilliant, the heeting was amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Disliked: Super close to the station 🚉 and easy to get around the city.
Liked: Location
Disliked: No member of staff on premises doors we slamming bathroom not too clean
Liked: The bed was so comfortable, the room was clean, there were the things necessary for stay available.
Disliked: There room was a bit small but still worked out for one person.
Excellent location and value, very friendly staff
Liked: Very friendly hotel just next to the station. Very good value. Perfect for a one night stay. Habib was very welcoming and kind.
Only affordable option in an expensive town
Liked: If you need a place to spend one, maybe two nights, then it will do! Five min walk from the station, 15 minute walk to town centre; codes to get in instead of a key seemed convenient; room was a good size and mostly clean; on a fairly quiet street so not too much noise from the road (but light did come through the curtains).
Disliked: The shower was handheld and had barely any pressure (not great for washing hair), shower door didn't properly close and the drain really struggled so kept having to put the water off as we were worried about flooding the bathroom; only hand soap provided, not body wash (in shower); had to flush the toilet multiple times for it to go down; windows had mould around them; one bedside table was missing - just holes in the wall, and the other one was barely big enough for a phone (USB plugs also didn't work so make sure to bring a proper plug); light and noise from the hall came through the door so not good if you're a light sleeper; no staff on the premise; bed was quite uncomfortable and small and the sheets/duvet were VERY basic; only four hangers and no hooks to hang coats on so good luck if you have a wet coat from the rain; TV only seemed to work by connecting apps; the room was mostly a big empty space.
