    Horrible place with bad experience!

Liked: There was nothing to like about this property other than it was close to the Cam River and Jesus Green collage.

Disliked: My stay at this property was really disappointing, and there were several issues that made it uncomfortable. I booked two apartments for my family and my brother’s family with kids, but the experience wasn’t what we expected. Here’s what went wrong: 1. The property kept sending payment reminders well before the free cancellation period, which felt pushy and unlike anything I’ve experienced before. 2. The hallway had a strong smell of drugs and was very dirty. I regret not taking a photo to show how bad it was. 3. The apartment itself was cute, but the floors were sticky. One of the single beds felt like sleeping on bare springs, which was uncomfortable. 4. There was no clothing rack provided, and when we asked for one, the staff didn’t act quickly or provide it. 5. One evening, we came back to find police at the entrance asking questions about if he had noticed any suspicious activities or heard noises last night? Something unsettling had happened in the ground-floor apartment, a forensic team was on site. From the moment we arrived, the neighborhood and property didn’t feel right, especially for families with kids. Despite their claims, it didn’t feel central or convenient. After the incident with the police, we decided to check out a day early and moved to the Hilton Cambridge City Centre. We asked the owners for a refund for the day we left early due to the poor experience, but they didn’t respond or show any understanding. They asked for photos, but how do you capture a sticky floor or the smell of drugs in the hallway? I would never recommend this property to anyone.

Well-equipped, cosy flat in a convenient location for visiting the city centre

Liked: The flats (because I think they have nearly the whole small block) are situated on the corner of Jesus Green, and we crossed the park to get to the city centre in less than 15 minutes on foot. It was a very pleasant location, and not noisy, despite being close to a road. We were able to make coffee, tea etc and eat a light meal every evening, which was cheaper and more convenient for us. The flat was well-equipped and the living room, though small, was big enough for us to relax. There is a small dishwasher and even a washing machine. I highly recommend it. Shout-out to the Waterman pub right nearby, where we ate the first day, while waiting for instructions for check-in. There is also a Co-op, or two, within a few minutes walk. Also the possibility of taking the guided bus across the Fens to St Ives from the Westbrook Centre stop on the Milton road. The host was really helpful and answered my messages on the Booking app very quickly. I had a few questions about checkout and the dustbins, and they answered each time within minutes, very kindly.

Disliked: Just a heads-up, the reservation procedure is long and fussy. After Booking, I had to go onto the Cambridge Stays site and give my credit card details, payment in advance, and a deposit, which has been returned. Following that, we received the instructions with the code for the keybox at 3 pm on the dot, on the day of arrival. I will admit that I was worried that it might not be legit, but it was, and as I said above, we were very happy with the apartment. Just wanted to reassure others who might be stressed by this too.
