  Though problems with the apartment, we enjoyed a lovely stay

  Liked: On the surface, it was a beautiful apartment, fairly well laid out and spacious. … Also, a good location for us - very close to the railway station and almost perfect distance from the wonderful, university buzz of students, activities and campus.

  Disliked: Lack of instructions; poor plumbing - at least one vanity sink not draining and one toilet not flushing properly; appalling microwave condition- unclean, horrendous odour, and physically looking unsafe (was unplugged); filthy and mouldy outdoor furniture - unusable; problematic heating; only one fan with one setting and no air conditioning; cooking and washing facilities- mainly problems due to lack of instructions and cleanliness…

  Great location with spacious living but looking quite tired

  Liked: The location of this property was fabulous - a couple of minutes walk from the train station. It was nice and spacious with the open plan kitchen-living area, two double bedrooms, and it was a bonus to have two bathrooms. Bedding, towels, and bathrooms were all nice and clean.

  Disliked: We didn't think the property was as nice as suggested in the photos. Up close it was tired - walls, doors and skirtings were scratched and grubby (see photo). Dining chairs were stained (see photo). The sofa material was worn right through (see photo). Not attempt had been made to clear the terrace which was covered in moss and weeds (see photo). We found the key lockbox temperamental although did get a little advice from hosts on this. There was a bright light in the alley at the back of the property which lit up the bedrooms all night - the rear rooms could do with black out blinds or curtains that reach the floor. The kitchen was very nice and reasonably well equipped but the pans were not suitable for the induction hob. One of them blistered and smoked and we could see that same had happened with a previous occupant with a different pan. The fridge had not being properly cleaned (rubber seals were filthy - see photo). There were no instructions for the appliances, or details of what to do with full bins. There were a good number of free-standing fans but only one worked properly (see photo). There was a hairdryer in the property but the cable was damaged, exposing bare wire (see photo). I messaged the agents about these issues but did not get a response. We think this property has massive potential given location and how spacious it is, but really is in need of decoration and replacement of furnishings to truly meet expectations given the rent charged to stay.

  Great space for sharing with work colleagues!

  Liked: Great location, clear and easy instructions to follow. Really lovely unit perfect for two work colleagues as had communal space to relax but our own bedrooms/bathrooms.
