  It was a horrible experience and it is very strange for a building not to have cameras anywhere in or outside and this i

  Disliked: DO NOT STAY HERE, LAYCON HOUSE 63 NEW STREET, CAMBRIDGE. OUR LUGGAGE WITH LAPTOP AND SO MANY VALUABLES WERE STOLEN AT THE LOBBY WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF ARRIVAL. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR AND WE WERE 3 FLOORS UP IN THE PENTHOUSE SO WE TOOK OUR FIRST SET OF LUGGAGE UP AND BY THE TIME WE CAME BACK DOWN TO TAKE THE NEXT SET THEY WERE GONE. I PERSONALLY HAD SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AFTER PUTTING OUR LUGGAGE IN THE LOBBY AND THE 2 THAT WERE TAKEN WERE JUST BY THE STAIRCASE. NO CAMERAS IN THE LOBBY OR OUTSIDE THE BUILDING WHICH IS VERY SUSPECT, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE? PROPERTY MANAGER WAS VERY UNHELPFUL AND CALLED IT “UNATTENDED TO LUGGAGE” IN A SUPPOSEDLY SECURE BUILDING. HE REFUSED TO QUESTION OR ALERT THE OTHER GUESTS AS WE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. WE ALSO LATER DISCOVERED THE FRONT DOOR WHEN SHUT AND THOUGH SUPPOSED TO BE OPENED WITH A CODE WAS 90% OPEN MOST TIMES MAKING IT FRIGHTENING THAT A MORE DANGEROUS CRIME COULD OCCUR AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. WE WERE LEFT VERY DEFLATED AND SCARED FOR THE REMAINING PERIOD AND IT MARRED THE TRIP BECAUSE IT WAS NOT OUR EXPECTATION OF CAMBRIDGE. WE LATER DISCOVERED IT IS A SAFE CITY SO THIS BUILDING IS VERY SUSPECT. BY THE WAY WE REPORTED TO THE POLICE BUT THERE WAS NO HELP AS WELL. THIS HAPPENED 3RD SEPTEMBER 2026. THERE IS A REVIEW ON BOOKING.COM 14th September AND THE PERSON HAD A DELIVERY STOLEN AND AGAIN THE PROPERTY MANAGERS DID NOTHING.   Nice spacious flat

  Liked: Nice spacious flat. Good location. Excellent communication with the hosts. Welcome package with some food is a very nice touch. A fan was provided as it was very hot (it was still very warm though). Secure bike storage.

  Disliked: No coffee maker.

  Spacious flat, quiet neighbourhood near the river

  Liked: The flat is modern and spacious and has a lot of light. There is a balcony which gets the sun in the morning. I liked the location because it's close to Midsommer Common and the river, which is great for a run/walk. It is however a bit out of the way for the city centre, but nice and quiet. I could leave my bike inside (there was also a bike storage, but I didn't have/receive a key). Very thoughtful welcome basket with little jars of jam, bread, pasta & sauce and milk and butter in the fridge.

  Disliked: There are some clear signs of wear & tear, with stains on walls inside the flat and on the carpet in the staircase. Limescale on the kitchen tap made it look a bit grimy. The TV remote control was too sticky to handle. The lock on the door was loose and required some skill to get open. The balcony door wouldn't lock - the host said there was nothing to worry about in terms of safety, but even though I expressed my concern it wasn't fixed during my stay (to be fair, nothing ontoward happened). The cutlery was so cheap that the forks bent during use. No coffee machine and no microwave. It's a shame, because it's a very lovely space so with a bit more attention to detail this could be a very nice location.

  Perfect little apartment. Very comfortable. Would stay again

  Liked: Very modern and comfortable.

  Disliked: Would have liked a microwave and also plugs near the table as I had to work and there were no plugs so I ended up moving the table to the corner with plugs temporarily so I could work. Maybe add a small desk near the plug sockets as the room is big enough to accommodate and that would have been a great addition?
